Pastor Joey Watt

A word from our pastor

Come as you are. Bring your Bible, or borrow one of ours.

Pastor Joey Watt grew up in this church, left to be trained, pastored in Indiana, and came back to Peoria in January 1986. He has been here ever since — which means the man in the pulpit has known some of the families in these pews his whole life.

We are an independent Baptist church. We preach out of the King James Bible, we sing the old hymns, and we still go door to door on Saturday mornings. None of that is meant to make a visitor feel like an outsider. If you have never been to a church like ours, you are exactly the person we are hoping walks in.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.

Romans 1:16

What we believe

Plain about where we stand

We would rather you knew before you came than after.
  • The Bible

We believe God has preserved His Word for us in the King James Version, and we use it throughout our ministry.

  • Believer's baptism

Baptism is for believers, and should promptly follow one's accepting Christ.

  • The Lord's Supper

Observed once a month as a memorial of the sacrifice Christ made for our sins.

The most important question on this website

Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?

El Vista has handed out this tract for years. It is short, it is plain, and it is the reason this church exists. Read it before you read anything else here.

Missions

Missionaries at home and around the world

A Faith Promise plan, a Missionary Closet stocked before they arrive, flags for every field we support, and a conference every October.
