Faith Promise

Missionaries at home and around the world

A Faith Promise plan for missionary giving, a closet stocked before they arrive, flags for every field we support, and a conference every October to keep the lost in front of us.

How we support them

Prayer first, then money

El Vista supports missionaries at home and around the world. Through generous giving we currently help support many works — a Bible tracts ministry, Jewish evangelism, and church-planting missionaries — in hopes of reaching others for Christ.

Frequent missionary speakers and an annual Missionary Conference each October keep our hearts concerned for the lost around the world. Please remember to pray for our missionaries.

Our responsibility

The commission has not been withdrawn

  • The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
    Matthew 9:37–38
  • Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
    Matthew 28:19
  • Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
    Mark 16:15

Why it is worth it

On a missions trip to China, Joe asked Yongni, a Chinese national, what he would do first when he got to Heaven.

“That's easy,” he replied. “I'll look for Jesus and thank Him for giving His life so I could be in Heaven. After that I'll find the missionary who told me about Jesus. I'll thank him for leaving his home country and his family and friends and coming to a strange culture to tell me the good news of the Gospel. I will find every person who ever gave to support that missionary — every man who gave his hard-earned money, every child who emptied his piggy bank, every widow who sacrificially went without, every Christian in every church who gave in any way to support the missionary who brought me the Gospel. I will search Heaven until I find every one of them.”

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Matthew 9:37–38

Nearer to home

A mission field on the city bus

One of our men, Bro. Gail Adair, loves to witness and hand out Bible tracts on the city bus. He would be glad to enlist you in a ministry of soul winning on public transit — ask for him at church, or call the office and we will pass your name along.

Take a handful of tracts

A good supply of Bible tracts will serve you well. Share them with a friendly greeting and an encouragement to read a message of hope from the Bible. There is a rack by the door — help yourself before you leave on Sunday.
