Straight answers

The questions people actually ask us

  • What time should I get there?

Sunday School starts at 9:30 and the morning service at 10:30. Either one is a fine place to start. If you are only coming to one, come at 10:30 — but arrive five minutes early and somebody will show you around.

  • What do people wear?

Most of our folks dress up a little for church — a shirt and tie, a dress or a skirt. Nobody will look twice if you come in what you own. We would rather have you here in jeans than not here at all.

  • Where do I park, and which door?

Take the first left into the parking lot drive off Syler Street. There is plenty of room. Come in the main entrance and there will be someone at the door.

  • What happens with my children?

Nursery care for infants, walkers and toddlers is provided during both Sunday School and the worship hour, and it is safe, clean and well-staffed. Older children have three age-graded Children's Church groups during the morning service. You are also perfectly welcome to keep them with you.

  • Will I be singled out?

No. We are glad you came and we will tell you so, but nobody is going to make you stand up in front of the church or put you on a list.

  • What is the preaching like?

Straight out of the King James Bible, and applied to ordinary life. Pastor Watt is presently working through the Book of Acts on Wednesday evenings.

  • What if I speak Spanish?

Pastor Jorge Montoya leads Sunday School at 9:30 and a morning service at 10:30 in Spanish, at the same hours, meeting in the Fireplace Room — plus Sunday evening and a midweek Bible study.

  • What if I am deaf or hard of hearing?

Every service is interpreted. There is also a Sunday School class each week, and activities through the year.

  • I do not have a way to get there.

Our buses have run routes in parts of Peoria since 1965. Call the church office and we will tell you whether there is a stop near you.

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
